You Can Make a Difference!

Senators hope you have forgotten AB405. They hope that you believe the latest rounds of AP reports that declare it dead. They hope you won’t tell your friends, or call them, or visit them, or – by golly – tell them what to do!

If you want to be a part of the tsunami, download this petition, get signatures, give 4 people their own petition to gather, mail them back. Rinse and repeat.

A quick death for AB405?

Monday morning, the Senate introduced AB405, parental notification for underage girls seeking an abortion.
In a surprise move, the bill was referred to the Finance Committee. The reporting portion of the bill, the only portion that was found to have fiscal consequences, had been removed on the Assembly side. Again, the phantom $2 million fiscal note is cited as the concern.
The speed with which it was introduced and referred makes me worry.  It is not too early to start calling the Senators.
Here is the contact info for the Finance Committee:

AB405 now goes to the Senate, where it will have a hearing before the HHS committee. To become law, it must pass out of committee then go before the full Senate. Once it passes there, the Governor must sign the bill. At that point, pre-teen and teen girls and their families will finally be protected.iStock_000061188598Large
